A Guide to Choosing a Cabin for your Hawaiian Cruise
Hawaiian cruise cabins are generally grouped into two: outside cabins and inside cabins. The difference between the two is that the outside cabins have a view of the ocean and the coast (if you are in the right side of the ship) while the inside cabins do not.
Aside from having windows with a view, some outside cabins even have their own balcony so you can experience the ocean breeze at the privacy of your room. In some cruise ships the balcony may come with a small table and a lounge chair. This extra perk does not come cheap, however. The cost of an outside cabin can be 25% to 50% more than an inside cabin. If you have extra money to spend, I recommend that you choose an outside cabin.
The decision for picking the right cabin for your Hawaiian cruise may also depend on the how you want to spend your cruise vacation. If you plan to explore as much of the cruise ship and the different Hawaii islands as much as possible and would just use your cabin to sleep then by all means choose the inside cabin. The inside cabins have beds with the same size as the outside cabins anyway and the same type of linens.
For long Hawaiian cruises that extend for more than ten days, however, the cabins might be used more often than on a three-day cruise. If your vacation will extend for several weeks then you might prefer to book an outside cabin.
It is also wise to check the diagram of the ship and book a cabin nearest to areas of the ship where you will do most of your activities. Since we eat three times a day it will be convenient to book a cabin nearest the dining area. For families traveling with children, booking a cabin near the play area makes sense. There are also adjoining cabins offered for families.
Whatever cabin you choose for your Hawaiian cruise it is important that you book your cruise from a reliable booking service. Cruise Direct
